Seed Savers Now Available Through Perma-Bound Books

November 18, 2019 by admin

Flying Books House is happy to announce that the Seed Savers series by Sandra Smith can now be ordered through Perma-Bound Books, a favorite supplier to school librarians for more than 60 years.

Already easily available via Ingram, Amazon, B&N, etc., FBH is excited for the Seed Savers series to be reaching the educational market even more easily with Perma-Bound and looks forward to a growing audience for this amazing series set in a future where gardening is forbidden and real food virtually unknown.

Diana Perry, Reviewer:
It’s 2077. There’s no apocalypse, but some things are different. Things like the weather, the Internet, and food. In 12-year-old Clare’s world, blueberry is just a flavor and apples are found only in fairy tales. Then one day Clare meets a woman who teaches her about seeds and real food. With Ana’s guidance, Clare and her friends learn about gardening. When the authorities discover the children’s forbidden tomato plant and arrest their mother, Clare and her brother begin a lonely cross-country journey that tests them both physically and spiritually. Can they help change the world? What a fun-to-read series that teaches the importance of growing our own food. It leaves young readers excited to read the next one. (Ages 9-12)

The People of Sparks

I recently finished reading the sequel to The City of Ember, The People of Sparks by Jeanne DuPrau. I read City of Ember years ago and had seen the movie. I really liked it as it reminded me of my own books. I especially remember loving the ending where the kids come up into the […]

A New Chapter

Right around Christmas a wonderful thing happened. I became a grandma for the first time! My daughter and son-in-law live 2,000 miles away, but since I’m a teacher and the baby was due in December, I was able to fly out and enjoy 10 days of his newbornness. That, and of course, help the new […]
